Nomination packs available for Moray by-election
Nomination packs are now available for prospective candidates for the upcoming Moray Council by-election in the Heldon and Laich ward.
They can be collected from the elections office at Moray Council headquarters in Elgin, by post by calling 01343 563334 or by emailing election.enquiries@moray.gov.uk
Completed nomination forms must by delivered in person by appointment no later than 4pm on Monday, August 31.
The by-election will take place on Thursday, October 1 and follows the resignation of Independent councillor Eric McGillivray.
The polls will be open from 7am until 10pm, with the count taking place at Lossiemouth Town Hall the following day.
Electors are reminded that applications to register to vote must reach the electoral registration office at 234 High Street, Elgin IV30 1BA by Tuesday, September 15.
Those who cannot get to the polling station on October 1 may apply for a postal or proxy vote by Wednesday, September 16.
