Nominations open for Findhorn & Kinloss Community Council

Nomination papers are now available for those who would like to stand for Findhorn & Kinloss Community Council.

An interim election is being held for the Findhorn & Kinloss Community Council following a petition from the community to Moray Council to re-establish it. The community council failed to re-establish in September when the main elections for Moray’s 20 community councils were held, due to insufficient numbers of candidates coming forward.

For Findhorn and Kinloss, there are a total of 10 seats available, five for Findhorn and five for Kinloss.

Candidates have until noon on Tuesday 19 December to lodge nomination papers with the election office within Moray Council.

In the event of there being more candidates than seats available, an election will be held by postal ballot during January 2018.

Nomination papers can be downloaded from Moray Council's website at www.moray.gov.uk/elections, by calling 01343 563334 or by emailing election.enquiries@moray.gov.uk

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
