Nominations to open for May elections
Nominations open tomorrow for the Moray Council elections on Thursday, May 4.
Completed nomination papers will require to be lodged with the council’s elections office by the deadline of 4pm on Wednesday, March 29.

Voters will go to the polls to elect 26 councillors in eight multi-member wards and successful candidates will serve a five-year term as councillors.
The elections will be conducted using the single transferable vote (STV) system which enables electors to vote for more than one candidate by ranking them in order of preference on the ballot paper using the number 1, 2, 3 and so on.
The count in all eight wards will take place at Elgin Town Hall on Friday, May 5.
