Online registration for new Primary One pupils to launch next week
PARENTS and guardians of children starting primary school this August can, for the first time, register their child for school online.
Children who are five years-old on or before 14 August 2018, or have their fifth birthday between 14 August 2018 and 28 February 2019 are eligible to start school in August 2018.
Registration for Primary One pupils takes place from Monday 15 to Friday 19 January and online registrations and placing requests will be available 24 hours a day during the period.
Online registration should take no longer than 30 minutes, and there’s a reminder of the documents you’ll need to have ready to upload before you begin.
Those who prefer to complete a paper copy can do so at the child’s catchment school during registration week. The child’s birth certificate and proof of address will be required at the time of registration. Advice on placing requests will also be available.
Those looking to enrol at a Moray Council Roman Catholic school will also be required to provide the child’s Roman Catholic Baptismal certificate.

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
