Positive inspection report for Anderson’s Primary School
The leadership and teaching staff at the Moray primary school have been praised by inspectors from Education Scotland.
In the inspection report published today (Tuesday 7 November) strong leadership and the staff body were highlighted as creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment in which children are happy and confident.
The report goes on to say lessons are well-planned, interesting and resources, including outdoor areas and amenities in the local community, are utilised well.
Education Scotland gathered evidence to evaluate the school’s work using certain quality indicators and graded according to the six-point scale of excellent, very good, good, satisfactory, weak and unsatisfactory. The two quality assessments of the primary school were graded as 'good' meaning they had important strengths that have a significantly positive impact on children and young people but with some aspects that require improvement.
The Inspectors added: “Staff across the school should continue to improve attainment in literacy and numeracy. Staff should improve how they help children understand their skills and strengths and what they need to do to improve them.”
“We are confident that the school has the capacity to continue to improve and so we will make no more visits in connection with this inspection.”
Anderson’s Head Teacher, Sara Neil, said: “I’m so proud of everyone on the team at Anderson’s Primary School. We aim to create a positive learning experience for every single pupil and we are pleased that this has been recognised.”
Moray Council’s Chief Education Officer, Vivienne Cross, added: “I’m delighted to see the results of the positive inspection report from Anderson’s Primary School. There’s great leadership and superb teaching staff providing a welcoming school experience, ensuring all children have the support they need. Well done everyone.”
