Positive inspection report for Rothes Primary
The friendly, responsible, and confident pupils at Rothes Primary have been praised by inspectors from Education Scotland in their latest report of the school.
In the inspection report published today (Tuesday 3 September) pupils were found to be actively engaged in their learning, achieving high levels in literacy and numeracy, and consistently demonstrating the school’s core values.
The inspectors also commended the headteacher and staff for building a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere with strong and respectful relationships.
The report continues to highlight the headteacher’s efforts in fostering a culture of collaboration, where trust and effective communication are central.
The involvement of parents, carers, and local residents in supporting the school’s success was also recognised as making a positive contribution to children’s learning and achievements.
Four of the quality indicators focused on during the inspection were: Leadership of change; Learning, teaching and assessment; Ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion; and Raising attainment and achievement.
Of these, three received a rating of ‘good’ while one was rated ‘very good’. Rothes Primary were encouraged to continue enhancing high quality learning and teaching throughout the school, focusing on key improvement priorities.
The report suggested that staff create more opportunities for pupils to develop independence and creativity, while the headteacher works with teachers to ensure a balanced curriculum.
Rothes Primary School’s Headteacher, Faith Sargeant, said: “I’m very proud of our whole school community. Our recent report highlighted our positive relationships, supportive learning environments, and high levels of achievement in reading and math.
“All of this is down to our amazing children, hardworking, caring staff, and supportive parents and partners. We’ll keep building on these strengths and look forward to new opportunities for improvement.”
