Public asked for input on Mosstodloch Masterplan
Moray Council has published a long-term expansion plan for Mosstodloch.
Proposals include up to 500 houses, a strengthened village centre near the Ian Baxter Picnic Area, and a spine road from Cowfords Roundabout to Garmouth Road.
This will provide an alternative route for HGVs and traffic, and could unlock industrial and renewable energy opportunities.
The masterplan setting out the development of the village over the next 20 years and more is now open to public consultation.
Comments and feedback can be submitted at localdevelopmentplan@moray.gov.uk
Crown Estate Scotland, which owns some of the land, drew up the masterplan following discussions with the community.
Moray Council is now asking for the community’s thoughts on the draft document and will use the feedback to develop the final plan.
If approved by Committee, the masterplan will be adopted as supplementary planning guidance and become a material consideration.
The 12-week consultation closes at 5pm on Monday 28 August 2023.
Comments and feedback or requests to speak to Council officers can be emailed to localdevelopmentplan@moray.gov.uk
Chair of the Planning and Regulatory Services Committee, Cllr David Gordon, is encouraging locals to take part in the consultation exercise.
“The chance to contribute to the plans for Mosstodloch is one I hope local people, who I know are very passionate about their area, will grab with both hands.
“We have a fantastic opportunity here to build the foundations of a community-led village development and I look forward to this masterplan coming back to committee following input from locals.”
Consultation feedback can also be sent to Moray Council, Strategic Planning & Development, Room 221a, Council HQ, High Street, Elgin, IV30 9BX.
