Public asked for views on concept designs for Town Centre Improvement Plans
Concept designs for improvements to Museum Square in Forres and the Square in Dufftown have been developed.
These are long-term projects which are identified in the Town Centre Improvement Plan's (TCIP’s), and the works will be fully funded by external sources out with the council, once the funds become available.
The TCIP’s outline proposals to support the regeneration of town centres and create a framework for attracting external funding whether projects are led by the council, a community group, or a partnership of both.
A consultation on the initial concept designs will run until Friday 20 December and all comments can be sent to localdevelopmentplan@moray.gov.uk. Following the consultation a finalised design will be prepared.
Public information drop-in sessions will be held on Wednesday 27 November in the Courtroom Tolbooth, Forres from 2pm - 6pm and Thursday 28 November at Dufftown Library from 2pm - 6pm. This a chance for anyone who wishes to discuss and share their thoughts in-person to come along and speak with the team.
Chair of Moray Council’s Economic, Development and Infrastructure Services Committee, Cllr Marc Macrae, said: “It’s encouraging to see the first designs for these projects. These Town Centre Improvement Plans are key to revitalising communities and strengthening the local area. I hope these plans can help attract investment and bring these projects to life.”
Information regarding the design concepts can be accessed online.
