Public invited to help shape next phase of Cooper Park’s future
The Elgin Neighbourhood Board, in partnership with Moray Council, is inviting residents to contribute their views on the future of Cooper Park as part of the development of an updated Masterplan.
The engagement follows the appointment of MBLA Design as the lead design team to further develop the plan. Parts of the plan previously identified through public engagement are being delivered through the Levelling Up Fund, with work on improved walking routes to begin in the coming weeks. Work on the pond restoration and refurbishment of the toilet block into a café and Changing Places facility will begin in early 2026.
The next phase engagement for Cooper Park’s glow-up begins with two public drop-in sessions taking place at the Cooper Park Pavilion on:
- Friday 28 November - 1pm – 4pm
- Saturday 29 November - 10am – 1pm
These sessions will provide an opportunity for the community to learn more about the aims of the Masterplan and to share their priorities for the rest of the park. While previous consultations have been held, this engagement will help ensure local voices are reflected before a draft Masterplan is prepared.
For those unable to attend in person, feedback can also be submitted online via the Moray Engage platform.
In addition to the public sessions, a workshop will be held on Friday morning with invited park user groups to gather their insights and experiences.
Jenny Urquhart, Chair of the Elgin Neighbourhood Board, said: “Cooper Park is a much-loved space at the heart of Elgin, and we want to make sure any future plans reflect what matters most to the people who use it. These sessions are a great opportunity for everyone to get involved and help shape the park for generations to come.
“As we begin to see initial work starting on areas of the park, the Elgin Neighbourhood Board is picking up the baton to keep the momentum going – but we need your help. Join us to share your views and help make Cooper Park the ultimate destination park in Moray.”
