Public toilets in Moray to re-open from 13 July

PUBLIC toilets in eight locations across Moray will re-open from 13 July.

On 24 March, public toilets closed due to Coronavirus. Toilets at Moray Council-operated harbours have remained open for harbour users, and a number of facilities have been open for keyworkers only, using a key safe system.

Now, following Scottish Government guidance and as restrictions are lifted on the tourism sector, more public toilets will be available for residents and visitors to Moray.

Moray Council, working with Visit Moray Speyside, has identified the following locations for priority re-opening from 13 July: Dunes (West), Findhorn; Cooper Park, Elgin; Victoria Street, Craigellachie; Regent Square, Keith; Tomintoul; Grant Park, Forres; Esplanade, Lossiemouth; Albert Place, Dufftown.

Facilities will be deep-cleaned before re-opening, with signage installed to encourage users to socially distance and observe high hygiene standards. Sanitising stations will be securely mounted at the entrance to toilets for use on entry and exit, and toilets will be cleaned twice daily by Moray Council’s toilet attendants.
