Recycling centre restrictions relaxed in Moray
RECYCLING centre restrictions have been relaxed in Moray.
A booking system will remain in place. However, with immediate effect small vans and trailers (no larger than 6 feet) will be permitted access in Elgin, Buckie, Forres and Keith.
Residents can now dispose of more types of household waste including soil, rubble, bulky waste, metals and wood. Non-recyclable waste (excess waste which would normally go in a green bin), garden waste, cardboard and small electrical and electronic devices continue to be accepted at all recycling centres.
Strict social distancing will remain in place, as such no assistance can be offered by staff to unload vehicles or dispose of waste. A maximum of three vehicles on site at any one time remains in place at Chanonry in Elgin and Waterford in Forres. However, at Balloch Road in Keith and Gollachy in Buckie, a maximum of two vehicles will be permitted on site at any one time. There will be no change to the current restriction of a maximum of two people permitted to leave the vehicle to allow heavy or bulky items to be disposed of.
