Respect campaign launched in Moray schools

A CAMPAIGN to reinforce respect has been launched in schools across Moray.

Head teachers in Moray will display posters in their primary and secondary schools, placed prominently in areas which the public regularly access. These posters will serve as a reminder to members of the public about the need for respect at all times.

Chair of Moray Council’s Children and Young Peoples’ Services Committee, Cllr Tim Eagle, hopes the campaign will ensure Moray Council staff are treated appropriately in the workplace.

He said: “While the vast majority of our customers and visitors are polite, courteous and respectful towards staff, there have been many occasions where employees, particularly school administrators, have been verbally assaulted by members of the public.

“This behaviour is not appropriate and will not be tolerated.”

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
