Return to school guidance published in Moray

Moray Council has published the guidance for families ahead of schools and nurseries returning for pupils on Wednesday 12 August.

The suite of guidance follows confirmation from the Scottish Government that schools can return 100% next week and was written in consultation with head teachers.

Details on transport, catering arrangements, cleaning practices, what pupils are permitted to bring to school and more, are all set out in the guides that have been sent directly to families by schools. Schools and nurseries will also share any specific instructions for their school.

Moray Council’s Head of Education, Vivienne Cross, has provided the information to families: “There’s no doubt that school and nursery is going to be different for everyone returning or starting new on 12 August and we appreciate it may be an anxious time for parents, carers and pupils.

“We’ve provided as much information as possible to answer the questions we’ve heard parents and carers and pupils asking over the summer. We want to be as open as we can with what school and nursery will be like for pupils from next week, but there will be an element of learning for us too as this is all new to staff as well.

“We ask that parents and carers familiarise themselves and their children with this guidance as far as possible before the start of term and do contact your school with any further questions. We’re here to support families step back into the ‘new norm’ of education.”

All the attached guidance published for parents and carers and pupils can be found on the information for parents and carers webpage.
