Seafield Primary inspection report released
The friendly, respectful and motivated children at the Moray primary school have been commended by inspectors from Education Scotland.
The inspection report praises primary school staff for ensuring children are well supported through one-to-one interventions and in class supports which enables them to make appropriate progress in their learning.
The report goes on to highlight the variety of ways in which children celebrate their achievements and how older children have valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills across the school.
Seafield Primary were encouraged to improve the consistency of high-quality learning, teaching and assessment across the school and to continue to monitor learning opportunities to ensure that the time for learning is maximised for all children.
Of the two quality indicators focused on during the primary inspection both were graded as ‘satisfactory’.
The Inspectors concluded: “We are confident that the school has the capacity to improve and so we will make no more visits in connection with this inspection.”
Seafield Primary Head Teacher, Morven Snodgrass, said: “It’s fantastic to see that the many strengths of our school have been identified in this report. Our dedicated staff team, hard–working pupils and supportive parent/carer body make Seafield Primary such a positive learning environment. We’ll continue to develop and improve by building on these strengths.”
Moray Council’s Chief Education Officer, Vivienne Cross, said: “Building a positive learning environment where children feel supported and understood is essential for any school and it’s great to see that being recognised by inspectors. The head teacher and her team will ensure areas for improvement are progressed at pace ”
