Shaping the future of Forres

The public in Forres are being given further opportunities to shape the future of their town.

Many people turned out at earlier open sessions held as part of the Planning for Real® process which lets locals influence how their communities might look in the years to come.

Now two further sessions are to be held at which visitors will be able to contribute their ideas to a large 3D map of Forres.

A group of local volunteers have been leading on the project – entitled Forres 2020 Vision – with help from Moray Council’s community support unit.

The two upcoming sessions will be in the town hall on Saturday, November 12 from 2pm to 6pm and Monday, November 21 from 5pm to 8pm.

Community support worker Sylvia Jamieson said: “The sessions we held in August and September were very well supported and lots of people came along with ideas.

“These new sessions are a continuation of the Planning for Real® process and we are looking forward to even more people coming along and contributing their vision of how the Forres of the future might look.”

Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west.
