Tenants' forum looking to recruit new members

New members are being sought for the body which represents council housing tenants in Moray.

New members are being sought for the body which represents council housing tenants in Moray.

The Moray Tenants’ Forum meets every two months or so and provides invaluable feedback to Moray Council on a wide range of housing issues.

The forum gives tenants the opportunity to have their say, make suggestions and influence decisions on improving housing services.

Similarly, the council’s housing service regularly consults the forum on proposed changes to policies.

Current chair Katy Holmes said: “Our meetings are informal and friendly and anyone who is a council tenant is welcome to join us. It is an exciting time to get involved and I hope that tenants will come along to our meetings so they can have a say about housing services.”

Help is available with expenses for travel or childcare costs for those attending meetings.

The forum’s annual general meeting takes place at the Inkwell in Francis Place, Elgin, on Monday, April 10 and anyone who would like to attend can call 0300 123 4566 or e-mail tenantparticipation@moray.gov.uk
