Speyside Way Challenge

The Speyside Challenge is back for its third year

Moray Council is encouraging users of the Speyside Way to take up the Speyside Challenge this September.

The aim of the challenge is to log the most distance covered, or the most journeys, by foot or bike, on the popular Speyside Way route.

The upgraded path is part of the Speyside Low Carbon Hub and runs from Craigellachie, through Aberlour and Carron to Cragganmore.

There’re a number of prizes to be won, including the chance of the star prize of a new bike from Highland Bikes up to the value of £2,000 and Moray Loves Local gift cards valued up to £50.

Chair of the Economic Development & Infrastructure Services Committee, Cllr Marc Macrae, said: “It’s brilliant to see the Speyside challenge back for another year, continuing to encourage residents to utilise the safe and accessible active travel routes.

“It will be great to see everyone get out walking or cycling, enjoying the upgraded routes and maybe winning some amazing prizes.”

Challengers can sign up here.
