Vandals force closure of public toilets in Fochabers

PUBLIC toilets in Fochabers have been forced to close again after repeated attacks by vandals.

After being closed last week due to the toilet bowls being smashed, the facility at Fochabers Pavilion reopened on Wednesday only to suffer the same fate just hours later, forcing another closure and costing Moray Council hundreds of pounds to repair.

Cllr Marc Macrae, who represents Fochabers, said the actions of mindless vandals will have a real and detrimental impact on the community.

“It’s unfair that locals and visitors to Fochabers will have to bear the brunt of this closure. Vandalism in our communities will not be tolerated and these incidents have been reported to the police.”

Famous for its colony of dolphins, fabulous beaches and more malt whisky distilleries than any where else in Scotland, Moray is a thriving area and a great place to live. Nestling between Aberdeenshire and the Highlands, Moray stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Brodie Castle in the west.
