Views sought on future plans for Mannachie Park

RESIDENTS in Forres are being encouraged to share their views on what they would like to see in the Mannachie Park masterplan which is currently being developed.

£50,000 of funding is currently available for the redevelopment of the play area in Mannachie Park and Moray Council is seeking input from the community as to what they would like to see included.

Rankinfraser Landscape Architecture have recently been commissioned to help prepare a development plan for the park, with the final design incorporating feedback collected from the community. The design will also guide the delivery of the various improvement projects anticipated for the area and once finalised will help attract future funding and resources to the park.

Moray Council’s Open Spaces Manager, James Hunter, is encouraging residents to take the opportunity to submit their views on what they’d like to see in the park.

“We want to ensure we’re providing parks and open spaces that meet the aspirations and needs of the local community. There will be lots of opportunities for people to tell us what they think, and I encourage locals to have their say on how the park is developed.”

A survey has been created to capture residents’ views which can be accessed here. Paper copies of the survey can be collected and submitted from the Moray Firth Credit Union and Forres House Community Centre.

Moray Council’s Communities Team will also be hosting a series of information sessions across Forres throughout May, with the first being held at Tesco in Forres on Wednesday 4 May between 10.00am and 12.00pm.

Residents will also be able to share their views at Forres High Street on Saturday 7 May between 10.00am and 12.00pm and Mannachie Park on Saturday 7 May between 1.00pm and 3.00pm
