Work progressing on Dallas flood scheme

Work is well under way on a scheme to protect a Moray village from further flooding.

Homes in Dallas suffered £600,000 of damage when the River Lossie burst its banks following a period of torrential rain in August 2014.

In what was the village’s worst flooding event in living memory, 27 properties were flooded internally and a further 12 were flooded externally.

Work on the flood scheme began last month and involves the creation of a 440m long embankment between the river and the village.

It is anticipated that the work will be completed by early next month.
