WW1 library talk
The leader of the Scotland’s War project – which is commemorating the centenary of the First World War – will be giving an illustrated talk at Elgin library next week.
Yvonne McEwen will celebrate some of the unsung heroes of the conflict – the nurses and surgeons who served at the Front and cared for the countless casualties.
The talk, which will take place on Tuesday, July 12 at 7pm and is free, is one of series of ongoing events being staged by Moray Council’s libraries service and the local Moray’s War team.
It is part of the Scotland’s War commemorations to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme under the banner Soldiers, Sisters and Surgeons of the Somme.
Moray Council area stretches from Tomintoul in the south to the shores of the Moray Firth, from Keith in the east to Forres in the west.
