Moray Council service changes as area moves to Level 4 restrictions on 26 December

Bin collections, recycling centres, public toilets and gritting
There are no changes proposed to any of these services as a result of Level 4 restrictions coming into effect on 26 December. Moray Council will continue with the existing arrangements (including those agreed for over the festive break).

Repairs and maintenance to council homes and properties
From 26 December only essential repairs will be completed. The smoke and fire alarm, and heating replacement programme will be suspended until further notice. Contractors will contact tenants directly to cancel appointments already made. This will be kept under regular review to reflect the latest Scottish Government guidance.

School Streets
The start of the School Streets project, which will see roads around Seafield and New Elgin primaries closed to traffic at peak times, is being postponed. It was due to begin 5 January, but with the phased return to schools this will be delayed. It's hoped the council can confirm a new date early in the New Year.

Sport and leisure facilities
Indoor and outdoor leisure facilities will not re-open as planned after the Christmas break. It's hoped they will be able to re-open in mid-January, however arrangements will be confirmed as early in the New Year as possible. Given the anticipated re-opening date, Moray Council isn't freezing FitLife? direct debit membership payments for January, but will keep further payments under review based on Scottish Government guidance and restrictions.

No indoor or outdoor lets will be permitted during this time, as no contact sports are allowed outdoors in Level 4.

Libraries
Aberlour, Buckie, Elgin, Forres, Keith, Lossiemouth and Tomintoul libraries will re-open from 5 January for Order and Collect only. No other services will be available at any Moray Council library.
